MLCM Announces the Promotion of Susie Ortega to Director of Compliance

Today, we are proud to announce the promotion of Susie Ortega, HCCP, CPM, ARE, TaCC, C3P to Director of Compliance, a well-deserved leadership advancement that reflects her extensive industry expertise, dedication to client success, and ongoing contributions to MLCM’s growth.

With more than 20 years of experience in the affordable housing industry, Susie has become a trusted resource for owners, management companies, developers, and housing professionals seeking guidance on complex compliance requirements. Since joining MLCM, she has played an instrumental role in helping clients understand and comply with the regulations governing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), HOME, Housing Trust Fund (HTF), Rural Development (RD), and HUD programs.

Before joining MLCM, Susie served as Senior Compliance Manager at RELATED Management Company, where she oversaw compliance activities for more than 16,000 affordable housing units across multiple states. Prior to that, she spent more than 11 years with the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) as a Senior Housing Management Representative, gaining valuable firsthand experience with state housing compliance requirements and regulatory oversight.

Susie’s impressive credentials include HCCP, CPM, ARE, TaCC, and C3P designations, reflecting her commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning. Her knowledge and practical experience have made her an invaluable advisor to clients navigating affordable housing compliance challenges and an important contributor to MLCM’s training and educational programs.

As Director of Compliance, Susie will continue to provide strategic guidance to clients while helping lead MLCM’s compliance consulting services, training initiatives, and regulatory support programs. Her expertise aligns closely with MLCM’s commitment to transforming compliance complexity into clarity, allowing housing professionals to focus on serving their communities with confidence.
